Sperrin’s- Banagher Glen to Altaheglish Reservoir and Altaheglish hill through Banagher Forest

Directions to start of walk:-

Drive through Dungiven and after approximately half a mile, look for brown sign on the left to Banagher Glen, via B74 Feeny Road. Follow signs to Glen. At end of narrow access road, bear left through entrance to forest park, go past small parking area on right and continue on for a further half mile to larger car park.

CHISRTMAS BREAK- NO WALK

Meeting on the Belfast to Londonderry train 9.10am from Great Victoria Street 9.33am at Mossley West. Walk starts from Waterside train station

For those travelling by train, we are due to arrive at the Waterside train station, at 11.22, so it is hoped to start walking at 11.30. For anyone planning to drive, there is parking at the station and we will meet at the station entrance.

Circular walk taking in Craigavon Bridge, Foyle Bridge, Peace Bridge and Historic City centre. Can be done in trainers/walking shoes.

 

Note.

The length of the walk and the exact route may depend on weather conditions. Return trains depart from Waterside every 2 hours at 38 minutes past the hour, e.g. 15.38, 17:38. Last train 19.38.
